HOME!!!

We are so excited to be home!  We made it safely with no major mishaps or delays.  Sarah and Mia picked us up from the airport and we were super surprised that MacKenzie was able to come, too!!  Natalie was especially thrilled!

When we arrived at the house, we were welcomed with a sign from the Cannons.  Everyone enjoyed visiting with all their friends all afternoon.  The kids crashed by 6:45pm and slept late this morning.  Adjusting to 8 hours back hopefully won't take too long.  More pictures to follow!  We were so excited that I didn't even think about taking many pictures.....

Made it to Atlanta!

The 15.5 hour flight from Dubai to Atlanta went fairly well. Bobby, Chase, and Avery all slept about 5 hours. Natalie and I only slept off and on for about 2 hours. :(. We are thrilled to be back on USA soil and are celebrating with a mimosa.

Burst my Bubbles! We're Going Home!!

Heading home for Christmas!! Ready for the loooong flights!!!

International Fair

The last day of school before the December holidays was International Day. The parents from each country in the school got together and set up a table to educate the kids about their country. Items shown included attire, maps, sports, culture, and food. They got to sample food at each station. They also had cute passports that were stamped at each country.

The booths were set up all over the school grouped by region. In one area was all the countries from North and South America, in another hallway was Europe, another area was Asia, etc, etc

It was so interesting to see how much the parents all got into showing off their countries. It was also a little sad that some countries who have lots of kids at the school weren't represented at all (Lebanon, Australia, New Zealand, France to name a few).

As you can imagine, when I asked the kids which country had the best food, they all said USA! At the USA table we had mini cupcakes, brownies, chocolate chip cookies, hotdogs, macaroni and cheese, etc.

Here are some pics of a few of the tables.

International Parade

The preschool and kindergarten classes all dressed up in their native country's national attire and had a parade for cultural awareness week. It is amazing the cultural diversity in this school. Over 33 different countries are represented. I took a few pics of some of the elaborate costumes and this is just a tiny slice of all the different attire from around the world that we got to see. Sorry some are blurry, but the iPhone doesn't take great motion pics.

This parade was the week just before we left to come home for Christmas.
