The Corniche and the Museum of Islamic Art

Tony and I took a stroll along the Corniche (which is a big walkway along the Arabian Gulf) and saw all the wooden Dhow boats.  Here is Tony with the West Bay skyline in the background.

We also checked out the Museum of Islamic Art. It was very beautiful inside. The pictures really can't do it justice.  It is full of artifacts from middle eastern countries dating back to the 8th century.

Inland Sea/Dune Bashing

We took Tony to drive in the sand dunes and see the Inland Sea this past weekend.  It continues to be an adventure each time we come out there.  This time our friends, Julie, Paul and their children Jack, Charlie, and Tillie followed us out along with Ken, Esther and family.  I continue to be amazed at the cool landscape here.

I have been playing with the panoramic picture on the iphone and LOVE the way this one turned out!

Avery getting more driving practice

Looking down from the top of the super steep soft dune.  The kids all have run down to the bottom and are trying to climb back up.  The camera can't give this dune justice as it is so steep that you think, "I am not driving my car down that!"  It looks like the car would flip end over end.

Half way up!

Natalie and Millie almost to the top

Chase made it and is super winded!

The sand at the top of the dune is usually not as soft as it was this day.  First Ken's car got stuck....

Then Tony got Bobby's truck stuck....

Tony says "OH NO!"

We arrived to the Inland Sea after fun driving in the dunes.  It was as beautiful as ever.

The kids buried Charlie all the way up to his head in the sand.  It was the funniest looking thing to see a head just laying on the ground looking like it wasn't attached to anything.

Sooo funny!!!
