Qatar Masters

Qatar Masters
This weekend we had the pleasure of attending the Qatar Masters at the Doha Golf Club.  The landscaping was so beautiful and green that I thought I maybe should take up golf just for the views.

The grass felt absolutely AMAZING on our feet!
It's not a party without puffs!
The highlight of the day was when we tracked down the hole that Sergio Garcia was going to be on soon and awaited his arrival.  As he walked up to the tee, he handed the ball from the previous hole to Avery!  LUCKY GIRL!!  We were all going on and on about how amazing and cool that was when Avery chucked the ball over the wall separating us from the next group of golfers about to hit from the tee.  I just couldn't let that ball go, so I ran around the barricade wall and picked it up and suffered many ugly glances from the caddies there.  Didn't get arrested though, or even kicked out of the tournament and we have a ball from Sergio Garcia to bring home!

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  DID HE JUST HAND HER HIS BALL?! (that is what we were all thinking)

Are we in Phoenix or Doha?  This is the only cactus we have ever seen here and think it must have been transplanted here for decoration of the golf course.  Cacti don't grow in the wild here as far as I know.

One thing that I think is cool about Doha is that everything we have been to has a kids area with activities to keep the kids entertained.

A visit from not very good imitations of Mickey and Minnie (we are so spoiled being from Florida)
Chase and George look like they could be sportscasters in this picture :)
Look at all this green grass!!!

Garcia was doing pretty well that day

Running across the golf course at a crossing zone -- the kids and Bobby thought that was soooo funny!
Will you stop taking my picture?  Please!

At the end of the day the girls were sitting on the side of a hill and the sprinklers came on.  They had a blast running around in them.

  1. Great story Kelley. I wish this had been going on when I was there! I bet Avery was surprised when you took off running around the barricade!!
