The Tour of Qatar was held here last week and we had the awesome opportunity to go watch the finish of the final stage of the race. I am not a big cycling fan so I didn't know any of the riders, but Bobby knew Mark Cavendish (the winner) and several others.
They had the riders do a 10 lap loop along the Corniche at the finish of the race so we were able to see them pass us multiple times. I was most impressed at how few people actually come to these events here so we could get a super close view and could have reached out and touched the riders as they flew past. I was amazing the noise and wind that comes off the peloton as it flies by!
In her usual fashion, Avery was handed a water bottle from one of the racers. She is a lucky charm for scoring professional athlete's equipment! We need to take her to a baseball game for a foul ball next! (Of course that will have to wait until we are back in the USA).
At the same time as the bike race, another hydroplane speed race was going on so we were able to watch that as well!

As we were walking back to our car, we saw some trick bikers so we got to watch a little show and one even did a full flip in the air! All the kids thought this was awesome!!
