A Walk Along the Corniche

Mom, Ron, and I took a stroll along the Corniche to see the beautiful views of West Bay and the Arabian Gulf.

It is always fun to see lots of local women exercising in their full national attire.  Seems like it would be super hot, but at least they are getting out there and working out.

The walkway has several areas with workout equipment, so mom decided to test it out.

I have seen this building (the Museum of Islamic Art) at least 50 times or more and today, Mom pointed out that it looks like a women in her veil with just her eyes showing.  I had never noticed it before, but now will never be able to look at it another way.  Very cool!

A picture of the Emiri Diwan (the big building where the Emir has his office and the cabinet meets).
The traffic on this day was the worst I had ever seen in Doha and we spent hours and hours in the car trying to get to/from school and to/from the Corniche.  We didn't know it at the time, but later learned it was because John Kerry was in town meeting with the Emir!  It caused us a lot of headache for the day and we didn't even get to see him.  Oh well.....
