Baseball in Doha

Chase just started baseball for the first time. Who knew we needed to come half way around the world to try such an American sport?! They organize it through the big American school here and even though our kids don't go there, it is open to everyone.

Chase is on a coach pitch team (the Colorado Rockies) and Bobby is helping out as an assistant coach. So far he is really liking it and seems to have a natural talent. He has had hits every time at bat so far!

On the other hand, he seems really burned out on soccer and complains about having to go. I think it is because the league here has awesome paid coaches, but all they do is training sessions. No actual games against other teams. The competition of the games is what Chase likes so he thinks it is boring and I don't blame him. I also think he misses playing with all his buddies that he has played with since he was 3.

Here are some pics of Friday's baseball game.

  1. So glad that Chase is getting to play some baseball over there! He is even wearing the number (11) I had as a baseball player long ago! See you all next week!!
